Just in the nick of time...

With 11 days (or hopefully less) to spare we finally were able to squeeze a pregnancy photo shoot into our crazy schedule. Needless to say at 38 1/2 weeks and with 100 degree weather I was not feeling super glamorous... but everyone has sworn that I will someday love these photos! Thanks mama and gma for all the cheerleading and hair-fixing (and photo taking of course)!

 

We already love you Paxton and can't wait to meet you... come soon!

Due 7-10 and Due 7-10

I can't believe that 13 years ago we made a pact to have our babies at the same time, and here we are at CP Shari's (probably where the original pact was made) 8 months pregnant with the same due date!!! I know life hasn't gone exactly the way we planned, but I am so glad to be going on THIS journey with my forever best friend!!!!

It's Official

Well it's official... hands free snack time, I'm not sure whether I should be excited or scared!

This should be on the mama journal page... but as I've already written it here, and am too lazy to move the post over, it will be a general announcement. Besides at this exact moment in time it feels somewhat profound.....Up all night with nightmares (check), officially up and at 'em @ 2:20 a.m. (check), 25 thank you cards written (check), blog updated (check), and at 4:42 a.m. this epiphany: As I sit here with only 3 hours of sleep, I am really wishing that I wasn't banned from coffee.... if ever a girl needed a granita it is today.... THE END!

33 Weeks

There is a link to see these types of things (which I think mostly only new mommies care about)... but I'm forcing it on you this week! I am getting HUGE which is hard to think about until I remember that that means Paxton is growing and almost ready to be here! This week he is approximately the
size of a pineapple (plus that's just funny to picture)!

The OB of course wants Baby P to go full term, but she did mention at my last appointment that 34 weeks was a safety checkpoint... I can't believe that he could be here any time now.

If the pictures aren't putting it into perspective for you, one of my students kindly told me yesterday that I probably wouldn't be able to greet them at the door in the morning anymore. When I asked why? she said it was because my belly was kind of blocking the path..... oh out of the mouths of babes!

Showered with Love

Paxton isn't even here yet and he is already being spoiled by friends and family. The last two weekends we have been showered with gifts and well wishes from friends and family... Ben and I are feeling blessed beyond words! Our house has officially been taken over by baby goodies and I couldn't be happier. Tomorrow marks 33 weeks which means we are getting CLOSE! Counting down the weeks instead of months... praying that we will have everything ready for our little man!!!

Welcome to the third trimester!!!

Its official... we are chugging along through the third trimester now and my official response to the question, "How are you feeling?" is "I'm feeling pregnant!"

I am still feeling so lucky as far as pregnancy symptoms go... but I am finding things like tying shoes, painting toenails, and getting up out of a chair to be a bit of a challenge...haha!

Craftiness

Self-sewn (and for those of you who know me that's a BIG deal) chapel shirt --> maternity chapel shirt... Feeling pretty proud of myself (also note the 24 week bump for those of you who have been asking for pictures)!

Road Trip

Paxton and I (and Grammy Sammy and Gma) went on a road trip this week. While it required many extra stops along the way, it was so worth it when we got there. Great weather and yummy food. I classified it as a food-cation, since our days were largely structured around my cravings for my favorite Seaside snacks. The best part of the whole trip was brainwashing Paxton with approximately 12 hours of broadway music... he especially liked Hairspray!

Finally!

Last night as I was laying in bed thinking of my Sunday to-do list I finally felt Paxton move! At first it felt like a little muscle quiver, and then a little later I could feel some definite bumps in my belly... I am so excited and in awe, and have spent my Sunday completely absorbed in planning and dreaming about the baby (the Sunday to-do list will just have to wait)!

The NAME

It is 99% official.... Paxton Dean is on his way! We had a whole list of boy names, but when Ben and I realized we had to go physically look at the list to remind ourselves of the other names, Paxton was meant to be. We are taking the 1%, but since everyone is asking (every 5 minutes) we thought we'd make it official-ish.

Shopping!!!

This weekend I made the mistake of saying that we would save a lot of money since we were having a boy... So untrue! This is the booty from one of four treasure hunting excursions that gma, grammy sammy, and I went on over the last few days!!! I could have bought the entire Jumping Beans line from Khols... so cute!!!

It's a BOY!

We are thrilled to share the news that we will be welcoming a baby boy to our family this July! Ben is over the moon excited and (even though no one believes me) so am I. We are very thankful for all of the gifts and hand-me-downs that have already been pouring in... this is going to be one spoiled (and stylin') little boy.

Our ultrasound went great and our boy looked healthy, even though he wasn't very cooperative for the tech.... hmmm reminds me of another boy I know! We are still due July 10th and I have strict instructions to drink lots of orange juice before my next apointment : )

Counting down the days...

17 days until the big reveal... I can't wait! Mom moved in this weekend, and even though it is going to be CRAZY, I feel truly blessed to be with my momma and gma as I welcome this new little one into the world! I should mention that the BIG countdown is 164 days!!!! Is it weird that on Mondays that seems like forever, but on Thursdays it seems like no time at all?!?! Our lives are about to change...yay!

No BIG updates yet

I am updating my Mama Journal a lot for those of you who want to follow my random and slightly neurotic thoughts on pregnancy, but as far as the nitty gritty on Bump there is not much to report. I am 15 weeks in and the OB says we are both healthy and moving along quite nicely. It is driving me nuts that I can not work harder and make this go faster, but many wise mamas are telling me to slow down and enjoy this part too (so I will try to listen). In 25 days I hope to have BIG news to share about Bump, as we will have a, hopefully, revealing ultrasound....
